A player’s lifetime is not one metric that slowly improves. It is a journey that ages: different principles light up at different times. Early on, Tenure is almost empty by definition. Monetary and Referral may barely speak. What you can often see — and often see clearly — is whether Attention is real, whether Frequency of return is already forming, whether Intensity is shallow curiosity or deep pull, and sometimes whether Resilience appears after a small friction.

Later, the same player may still be “active,” but the story moves: Tenure becomes asset or exit risk; spend and community separate; recovery after a dry week tells you if the loop survives stress. If you only look late, you are always late. If you only look at one late KPI, you flatten two different lives into one green cell.

D0 · D1 · D3

Live operators already know this in their bones: cohorts healthy on day one and lost by day three rarely recover into greatness without a product change. That stickiness is the opening for principle-led work — not a perfect lifetime model, but an honest early map.

Appointment design. High early Attention and Frequency means habit, not only trailer curiosity. Intensity then tells you how deep those appointments go. The combination is the story. One score would lie about both.

In the journey hub, time runs left to right on the stage: install → lens → D1 → D3 → later. That spine is the same ageing map in miniature.
