After orange briefs, focus lands on green up × up — principle pairs that compound, named for who they are to the business:

Trails

While populations move into coloured spaces, they light the path they take: solid green for good paths, dashed orange for opportunity, dashed red for challenges to learn from. Motion is not random scatter — it is journey, and the trail colour is part of the argument.

Adjacency and strength clusters

A red next to a green is not only “drop-off.” It can mean a strength is being pulled down by an adjacent weakness. Working that red can still be good strategy, because you protect or unlock the green beside it.

Neighbours (row and column) and whole principle columns with multiple greens show strength clusters — how engagement is held up as a structure, not a list of independent cells. The floor is a map under load.

Regrettable attrition

Some reds next to greens are regrettable attrition: product or service failed the player (loop cliff, economy break, fantasy not fed) — or plain bad luck. Either way, learn the trail that led them out. That is not a separate appendix in the journey: adjacency seeds it; the design-meets-needs summary names it so focus is chosen with eyes open.

Walk it in the hub scroll (paths light up, green focus, adjacency, then the summary).
