Product Performance Review

One review, two lengths. Six weeks are the operational review and the strategy check: people, tooling and cadence, and whether they are aimed at the right KPIs. Twelve weeks include those six, then segmentation and AFITMRR™ applied so the team can create, categorise and keep working with it, in a privacy-safe form, plus a strategic roadmap review.

For studios whose way of working and their performance KPIs have drifted apart

  • People
  • Tooling
  • Cadence
  • The right KPIs
  • How the work is run
  • Lead interviews
  • How the people, the tools and the cadence actually run the product
  • Whether that system is aimed at the right KPIs for performance
  • What the lead interviews add about how the work gets done
  • The strategy check: what to change in the operating rhythm

How the six weeks run

Week 1

How the work runs

Who owns the goals, which tools the team uses, and the cadence they keep. The lead interviews start here.

Weeks 2–5

People, tools, cadence

The operational review, set against the KPIs that should govern performance. Interviews with the leads continue through these weeks.

Week 6

The strategy check

Agree the rhythm and the performance KPIs it should serve. Six weeks end here. Twelve weeks continue from this point.

What the six weeks leave you

  • A picture of how the product is run: people, tools, cadence
  • The performance KPIs that system should serve
  • What the interviews changed in that picture
  • The changes to make in how the work is run

Good fit for six weeks if

  • The team is busy and the performance KPIs do not move
  • The tools and the reviews do not match the goals
  • Leads disagree on what performance means
  • You want the operational review and the strategy check, and to stop there

The twelve weeks

The same six weeks, then six more. Take twelve when the team should leave able to work with segments, and the strategic roadmap should be reviewed from that work.

  • The six weeks, included
  • Segmentation
  • Create and categorise
  • Capability to keep using it
  • Strategic roadmap review
  • Privacy-safe aggregates
Weeks 1–6

Included

The operational review and the strategy check, as above. Lead interviews sit in these weeks.

Weeks 7–10

Segmentation

AFITMRR™ applied with the team, so they can create and categorise. Aggregates only.

Weeks 11–12

Capability and the roadmap

The team works with what was built. A strategic roadmap review closes the twelve weeks.
